This vast park of over 10 thousand hectares extends on the plateau of the Lessini Mountains and brings with it a rich store of historical, natural and archaeological remains, able to satisfy even the most demanding!

Among the most interesting natural attractions close to the Valpolicella Classica are certainly the Ponte di Veja, one of the largest natural bridges in the world; the Parco delle Cascate di Molina, with its amazing water jumps; the Spluga della Preta, a karst cavity near the Corno d'Aquilio almost a thousand meters deep and still partly unexplored.

But if you also want to know the ancient history of this territory, the Fumane Cave awaits you: here were found traces of the presence of the Neanderthal Man and the first Homo Sapiens.

However, if you want to take a step further back in time, visit the Paleontological and Prehistoric Museum of Sant'Anna d'Alfaedo: here you can find extraordinary examples of fossils, discovered over the years in the Lessinia stone quarries, including a huge shark fossil over 5 meters long.

Lessinia, once a borderland between Italy and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, still bears the traces of an imposing defensive system, in some occasions exploited until the end of the Great War.
If you are passionate about history, then the recently restored Forte Tesoro is certainly worth a visit.

However, this territory is famous above all for the wonderful natural environment it hosts.

Mountains with gentle contours are covered with green pastures and woods of hornbeams, oaks, chestnuts, beeches and firs in the lower part, while in the upper part you can frequently find rhododendrons and mountain pine.

Color the meadows (and pleasantly perfume the air!) Of Lessinia so many species of flowers, such as cyclamens, snowdrops, gentians, mountain saffron and edelweiss.

Given the wide network of paths present in the Natural Park, to be covered on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback, during your excursion you could meet some of the many "inhabitants" of the place: deer, chamois, roe deer, marmots and squirrels but also foxes, hares, porcupines, golden eagles, peregrine falcons and owls, bearing witness to a genuine territory in which nature manifests itself in all its beauty.

Lessinia is also the ideal place for gourmands: among the most delicious typical products to be tasted at least once there are the Monte Veronese DOP cheese and the very tasty malga and allevo cheeses, cherries, strawberries and chestnuts, in addition to honey, milk, cold cuts and meats.

True specialties are however the Tortafrolla of Roverè Veronese and the tasty gnocchi di malga (or gnocchi sbatùi), all not far from the hills where the fine Valpolicella wines are produced!
