At the exit of the North ring road near San Pietro in Cariano, follow the signs for Fumane - Cascate di Molina.

We recommend a visit to the suggestive Villa della Torre, one of the most fascinating and prestigious historical residences in the whole Veronese area.

The villa, now home to the Allegrini winery, was commissioned at the end of the sixteenth century by the intellectual and humanist Giulio della Torre, with the aim of creating a place for peace of body and soul among the peaceful hills of Valpolicella.

The interior rooms are especially not to be missed, with the terrifying masked fireplaces that are difficult to remain indifferent to!

Another proposal for the day, perhaps after stopping to taste a glass of Amarone or Recioto in one of the many cellars of Fumane, is the Sanctuary of the Madonna de La Salette.

The Sanctuary can be reached by car in 10 minutes, but in just 30 minutes on foot, with a nice walk, you can also reach the panoramic terrace whose view on the Valle dei Progni will repay all your effort!

Back in the village of Fumane, take the car again and continue for about 9 km towards Molina; follow the signs for the prehistoric site of the Fumane Cave.

This particular area has hosted our Neanderthal "cousins" starting from 90 thousand years ago and the discovery of the cave, which took place only in recent times, allows us to have important information on technology, subsistence strategies and the symbolic behavior of our ancestors, extinct for about 40 thousand years.

Here one of the most important finds of prehistoric painting in Europe was found, the so-called Shaman, a stone painted red that represents an anthropomorphic figure.

The cave is temporarily closed to the public.

Not far from the cave, you can take a path on foot that leads to Molina, reachable in 1 hour on foot, to be tackled with suitable shoes and sportswear.

Before reaching the village, the path passes by the entrance to the Parco delle Cascate, where caves and breathtaking water jumps are immersed in the greenery (they can be visited with pre-established routes in about 2 hours on foot).

Alternatively, you can get to Molina from the Fumane Cave in 10 minutes by car.

Also stop for a visit to the small center of medieval origin: time seems to be still here, as the atmosphere has remained the peaceful and silent one of the villages of the past.

Important for Molina was the milling activity (hence the toponym), thanks to the abundant presence of waterways: if you want to rediscover the ancient crafts of the inhabitants stop at Molin dei Veraghi and Molin de Lorenso, recently restored, in where it is possible to attend the grinding of corn for the production of flour.

If you still have a few free hours, from Molina you can continue by car to Gorgusello, which has maintained the typical appearance of the stone village to date, and then Breonio, home of the ancient church of San Marziale.

The last recommended stop before going down to the valley is Cavalo, with its old church, built at the end of the thirteenth century with renovations dating from the fifteenth and eighteenth centuries.

From here you can also observe the overlying Monte Pastello in all its beauty, with the particular "wounds" due to the extraction of marble.
