In Volargne, on the banks of the Adige river and along the ancient Via Tridentina, halfway between the Classic Valpolicella and Lake Garda, stands Villa Del Bene, built between the 15th and 16th centuries.

The history of the villa is interesting, which hosted numerous prelates participating in the Council of Trent (1545-1563), as well as welcoming illustrious personalities and various exponents of the nobility of the Serenissima Republic.

The first buildings of the building date back to the fifteenth century, but it was Giovanni del Bene, after purchasing the villa and the surrounding land from Antonio Malfatti between 1538 and 1539, who gave new life to the palace.

Del Bene in fact updated the original building with new buildings, but above all commissioned the precious frescoes still visible today in the internal halls.

Do not miss the frescoes of the internal staircase, of the loggia, of the noble hall and in other rooms of the building, attributed to Domenico Brusasorzi, Nicola Crollalanza and Bernardino India.

Outside you will be greeted by a majestic entrance portal, attributed to Michele Sanmicheli, decorated with a head symbolizing Christ and a sun disk.

The double portal has an external representative function and a private internal one, with reference at the same time to the passage from man to God.
